Christmas Wishing Tree campaign 2023

Our gloriously decorated “Christmas Wishing Tree” this year again brought joy to the hearts of many children who had made wishes. The “Christmas Wishing Tree” is now in its 10th year, an initiative of Verein der Freunde des OpernTurms, and this time was organized in cooperation with the City of Frankfurt Children’s Office – kinderbuero-frankfurt.de. The presents or cash donations went this year to the children in the Mutter-Kind-Haus Stiftung Waisenhaus am Riedberg as well as the children of the St. Martin kindergarten in Gallus in Frankfurt.

Opernspiele 2023

From 19 August to 3 September 2023, Frankfurt’s Opernplatz is transformed into a playtime paradise for kids, featuring water fun, climbing walls, bull-riding, and creative crafts workshops. Stoffel 2023

For 20 years now, STOFFEL (Stalburg Theater Offen Luft) has each summer served up a two-week-plus highly-varied outdoor cultural programme of concerts, cabaret, theatre, and night-time flea-market. This marvellous, inclusive event is free of charge, open to everyone, and is financed by voluntary entrance contributions and donations. Verein der Freunde des OpernTurms e.V. regularly supports this great summer bash.

Young scientists compete to explain the world – brilliant ideas, witty remarks, and surprising punchlines included: This year, Verein der Freunde des OpernTurms e.V. is supporting Physikalischer Verein in its stimulating and enlightening Science Slam, an event where young researchers wax poetical. Jazz Standards in the Senior Citizen’s Home – Live Music Now

The SkoWaSchu Trio played many a lively tune for their audience at the Alloheim Seniorenresidenz “Mainpark” in Frankfurt. Featuring jazz standards and soul classics by Sting, Carole King, Bobby Troup, and Jimmy Webb, singer Helen Skobowsky, guitarist Paul Walke and double-bass player Niklas Schumacher whisked the attentive listeners away into the last century with songs that the band really loves. The concert was part of the Yehudi Menuhin – Live Music Now initiative, which Verein der Freunde des OpernTurms once again was happy to support this year. Christmas Wishing Tree Campaign 2022

A total of 53 children and teenagers from the transitioning residence on Flinschstrasse in Frankfurt’s Seckbach district, run by Frankfurt’s Protestant Regional Association, received a gift from Father Christmas himself.
