When tens of thousands of runners in company shirts take over Frankfurt city centre in early June, there can only be one reason: the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is back in town. On Wednesday, 3 June 2026, the event returned to Frankfurt for the 32nd time, bringing together thousands of employees from companies across a wide range of sectors for the 5.6-kilometre route through the banking district. For many OpernTurm participants, however, the evening did not end at the finish line. As in previous years, they headed up to the rooftop terrace afterwards, where the OpernTurm community gathered for the After-Run BBQ – rounding off the evening with good food, music and views across the city.
Europe’s largest corporate running event
With more than 63,000 participants from over 2,300 companies, the 2026 Corporate Challenge once again underlined its impressive scale. Yet the run has long been much more than a sporting event. It is now firmly established as part of Frankfurt’s summer calendar, bringing together exercise, team spirit and the energy of city life in a uniquely Frankfurt way.
Above the rooftops of Frankfurt
The evening at OpernTurm picked up on this spirit. From 6 p.m. until midnight, guests continued the celebrations on the rooftop terrace – with skyline views, DJ sounds, summery alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and an international BBQ as varied as the field of runners itself. Mexican grill, American BBQ, German roast and loaded fries offered plenty of choice for members of the OpernTurm tenant community and their guests. Catering was provided by Consortium, the operator of the OpernTurm Restaurant. With music from the DJ and the city skyline as a backdrop, the After-Run BBQ created a relaxed summer atmosphere high above Frankfurt.
Once again, the evening became much more than a date in the sporting calendar. It was a shared experience that brought together movement, encounters and the OpernTurm community in the best possible way.
